Introduction
The following blog highlights the importance of putting in place an agreement to cover a partnership.
Comment
The blog refers specifically to partnerships in the farming and agricultural sector but the points are valid for all partnerships.
Well drafted partnership agreements (and other agreements) are a preventative measure and will often prevent a dispute arising due to the clarity and certainty they provide.
Of course, there are no guarantees that a dispute will not arise even with an agreement in place but there is much evidence to suggest that disputes arising out of partnerships that are not covered by an agreement cost many times more than those arising out of a formalised agreement. If a dispute does arise, the agreement will often provide a process to aid resolution.
